Coronavirus: What Business Owners Need To Know

These are uncertain and challenging times. At CFOMasters we are most concerned with the health and safety of our staff, our clients and our community as a whole and we support whatever measures are aimed at containing the virus.

Like many of you, we are keeping a close eye on the threat the coronavirus presents to our team members, our families and our community.Thankfully, the public health risk in Canada remains low, but it is very difficult to predict the full effects of COVID-19 and we want to assure you that we are taking the risk seriously and planning accordingly.

Over the years we have invested in our business continuity plan, hoping that we would not need to implement it. The plan has guided us through this extraordinary event. We have also invested heavily in technology, with a robust VPN, cloud-based file storage and video/audio conferencing solutions.

We’re committed to the well-being of our team members, our clients and any visitors to our office and are following health and safety protocols designed to help protect us all from the virus. We are closely following the leading public health authorities to ensure that we are taking all possible steps to mitigate the risk.

We have decided that for now our office will remain open, but we are encouraging our CFO masters and staff to work from home if they are able to do so effectively. In the interest of social distancing, we will also be seeking to reschedule or postpone any non-urgent client meetings scheduled for the next several weeks. Our aim is to continue to provide our usual excellent client service through these challenging times.  If you had an appointment to meet with one of our staff over the next couple of weeks, someone will be in touch with you to explore whether that meeting can take place by phone or other electronic means, or whether you would prefer to reschedule.

We have contingency plans enabling our staff members to work remotely to ensure continuity of our services in the event of a quarantine situation. Should a staff member at our office test positive for COVID-19, we will work with local health officials and follow recommended public health measures to minimize any further transmission.

We understand that the closure of the Government offices, some businesses and the imposition of travel advisories and restrictions may have an impact on you and your business. Our team members will be in touch with you on any matters immediately affected by these closures.

While it may not be business as usual, we are working hard to keep our business with you running as smoothly as possible. Please reach out to us if we can be of any assistance.
